Introduction
Ekadashi Vrat (एकादशी व्रत) is one of the most sacred fasts in Sanatan Dharma, observed on the eleventh day (Ekadashi – एकादशी) of both the waxing (Shukla Paksha) and waning (Krishna Paksha) lunar phases. According to Padma Purana and Bhagavad Gita, observing Ekadashi is a path to moksha (मोक्ष) and freedom from the cycle of birth and death. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (भगवान विष्णु), and devotees believe that fasting on this day destroys sins and purifies the mind.
