मार्गशीर्ष मास, जिसे अगहन मास (Agahan Month) भी कहा जाता है, हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार धार्मिक दृष्टि से अत्यंत पवित्र माना गया है।
इस महीने को भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने गीता में स्वयं अपना प्रिय मास कहा है —
“मासानां मार्गशीर्षोऽहम्” – भगवद गीता 10:35
